5. Fold the hat into four pieces and gently shake out the excess water. Do not use a washing machine to dry it.

4. Wool hats should not be washed in water, as wool shrinks. If dust or pet hair gets on the hat, use wide tape, folded over your finger, to remove the dust. Wool hats don't need to be washed frequently, as this can shorten their lifespan. If washing is absolutely necessary, dry cleaning is the most appropriate method.
